Breakfast isn’t just the most important meal of the day for kids, adults need it to. This may also help to raise your metabolism and allow you to burn more calories during the day.
Stop eating straight from the box or bag sitting on the counter. This equals snacking in its worse form because you have no idea how much you are eating when you don’t see the exact portion. Always put whatever it is into a bowl or on a plate so you see what it is and how much it is.
Do go ahead and splurge from time to time. It isn’t good to deprive yourself of those foods everyone calls “evil”. They are only evil if you go overboard and binge, and you will binge if you don’t allow yourself to give into a craving every once in a while. With kids, this isn’t as hard as you think. When you buy them ice cream, get yourself a child sized cone, you get to satisfy your sweet tooth in a controlled way.
